Thank you to everyone who joined us on Bank Holiday Monday for our special Celebration of the Greek Runner.
The flags were up which is always a joy to see in the Square. Special thanks to the Pryors from Standish Road for the trumpet fanfare to launch the Celebration and a trumpet rendition of Happy Birthday to celebrate the Greek Runner’s 100th year in the Square as we revealed the Statue in all his glory, following the recent restoration.

Ready and waiting for its ceremonial unveiling

Getting the flags up is a tricky business
The first ever SPRA cook out (read massive BBQ kindly lent by St Peter's church) proved popular with many delicious looking platefuls making their way back to picnic rugs across the Square.
The Treasure Hunt proved trickier than expected and the tenacity of the youngsters taking part was admirable. Congrats to all those who managed the correct answer. The winning correct entry was drawn at random.
The children’s games also proved popular with this gorgeous hand drawn poster to highlight the options available.

We were delighted to coordinate with St Peter’s School on a Greek Runner Challenge. The results were on display at the event and drew quite a crowd. Our thanks to all who entered the competition. You can read more about it soon and see the winning entries and many more.

Many thanks to all the SPRA team for their hard work in organising the event but more importantly to all those who came and helped mark the occasion.
