A massive thank you to pupils from our local St Peter’s Primary School and to secondary school students at St Paul’s Girls School in Hammersmith for their recent visits to help with the planting of spring bulbs.
The pupils at St Peter’s are regular visitors to the Square and we were delighted to welcome them back to get the spring bulb planting started. As always, we loved having years 1 and 3 who came to live out the school value of Service as part of science learning project on plants and flowers. We are very grateful for their contribution.
The visit from students from St Paul's was their first, organised by Abundance London, the Chiswick based voluntary organisation. The girls were a massive help, weeding around the newly renovated Greek Runner and the Leaning Woman and planting hundreds of bulbs. We were so impressed with their enthusiasm and attitude. We had a bumper selection of bulbs to plant this year thanks to the Council who provided many additional bulbs.
Our thanks to Abundance for introducing us to St Paul’s and for their help on the day. You can read more about their work here. Thanks as well to the teachers who accompanied their pupils and made it all possible.
We hope to welcome many of the students back in the Spring to see all their hard work. We hope you will all enjoy the show too.
Donations to the St Peter’s Garden Fund are always welcome, to contribute please email support@spraweb.net. The Garden Fund, managed by SPRA, allows us to engage private gardening services and choose a variety of plants beyond the scope of the council.
