We were delighted to welcome 40 students from St Paul’s Girls’ School and their teachers to Berestede Road recently to help with the ongoing improvement of the area. The girls valiantly battled against the very dry ground to lift persistent weeds and helped spread wood chippings, supplied by LBHF.

Our thanks to Steve Askins and Raj Sethi who have designed and installed an automatic watering system to ensure the recently planted yew hedge can thrive at Berestede Road Open Garden and the bottom of North Eyot Gardens.
The new planting did well over the winter months helped by the plentiful rainfall but we need to ensure a consistent water supply for the drier months. This was installed just in time given how dry April and May have been. SPRA has funded the system itself and Raj and Asha Sethi are very kindly providing the water, for this first year at least.
