Our thanks to Steve Askins and Raj Sethi who have been working hard this month to design and install an automatic watering system to ensure the recently planted yew hedge can thrive at Berestede Road Open Garden and the bottom of North Eyot Gardens.
The new planting has done well over the winter months helped by the plentiful rainfall but we need to ensure a consistent water supply for the drier months. SPRA has funded the system itself and Raj and Asha Sethi are very kindly providing the water, for this first year at least.
We also have a team of up to 40 girls from St Paul’s school coming mid May to help weed and mulch the area and spread wood chipping as required. If anyone has a full size garden fork they no longer need (or one you could loan) please email support@spraweb.net.
